Diamond Push-Up

Close-grip push-ups with a triceps emphasis — one of the most effective bodyweight triceps builders.

How to perform

  1. 1.Hands under the chest, thumbs and index fingers forming a diamond
  2. 2.Elbows track along the body, not flaring out
  3. 3.Lower the chest to the hands with a straight body line
  4. 4.Full arm extension at the top

Common mistakes

  • Elbows flaring out to the sides
  • Hips sagging as fatigue builds

Tips

  • If your wrists complain, angle the hands slightly or move them a bit wider

Limitations

Use caution with issues in: shoulders. If you feel discomfort, reduce the range of motion or swap the exercise — ideally after consulting a coach.
