Close-Grip Bench Press

How to perform
- 1.Grip inside shoulder width, shoulder blades retracted
- 2.Lower to the lower chest, elbows closer to the body
- 3.Press up without bouncing off the chest
Common mistakes
- Grip too narrow — wrist overload
- Elbows flared to 90 degrees
Tips
- Grip about one hand-width inside the shoulders — not narrower
Limitations
Use caution with issues in: shoulders, elbows. If you feel discomfort, reduce the range of motion or swap the exercise — ideally after consulting a coach.
